Sam, a palawa man, is conflicted between looking after his young family and fighting for the rights of his people and country. Sam is becoming increasingly frustrated at the “new palawas” who seem to be getting more of a voice than grass roots palawa in the media and government.

Nathan has 14 years’ experience as a dancer in schools and communities. In 2012 he performed in Shadow Dreams, a collaboration of Terrapin Puppet Theatre and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Nathan was awarded the 2014 Tasmanian Regional Arts grant to develop his Skills as a performer. In 2015 Nathan’s play, So not a traditional story, received funding from Salamanca arts hype program. It has since been picked up Terrapin puppet theatre company and is set to tour Tasmania schools in 2018. Nathan was awarded the 2014 Tasmanian Regional Arts grant to develop his Skills as a performer. Nathan received the 2014 Vita Brown Bequest. In 2015, Nathan received an Arts Tasmania-Aboriginal Arts Program grant, for a year long career development program. Nathan was mentee producer with Kickstart arts for 12 months from 2015 to 2016. His play The Season, featured in the 2015 Yellamundie Festival, produced by Moogahlin Arts. From the Yellamundie Festival, The Season went onto receive Major festival initiative funding and opened at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Sydney Festival. Hobart Theatre Royal as part of the, Ten Days on the Island Festival,and Melbourne Festival, as well as a 12 week tour in the latter half of 2018 to Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney among other locations.

At What Cost was presented at the Yellamundie National First Peoples Playwriting Festival on 26 January 2019 at Carriageworks for Sydney Festival.
