Farewell to Lacey Boney

Joining Moogahlin in May 2021, Lacey covered the position of Festival Coordinator, whilst Belinda Boney took a 3 month secondment to the Australian Electoral Commission. In 2022 we created a specific role for Lacey as the Regional Projects Coordinator working on Moogahlin's Western NSW projects including: Women's Business Language Ngurra (Camp), Ngapa Mayi Purtu, and Baiame's Ngunnhu Festivals 2022-2023. In addition, Lacey observed and supported our metro projects of The Last Shot and Cutter and Coota, and represented the company at the 2022 Australian Performing Arts Exchange in Sydney, and more recently the Kia Mau Festival in New Zealand.

In the time we traveled alongside Lacey we witnessed her confidence and strength as a role model grow in the community of Brewarrina LGA through the production of Baiame’s Ngunnhu Festival Opening Ceremony Corroboree, as part of her role in leading the Women's Business Language Ngurra (Camp). A truly wonderful moment was seeing Lacey present an overview of the Women’s Business Language Ngurra project at the 2022 NSW Aboriginal Language Trust Conference to a room of 200 language practitioners from all over NSW, supported by women of her community.

We are so thankful for the time Lacey has been with us, the laughs, the learnings and the growth we shared. Good luck sis. Yaluu
