Moogahlin’s team grows for 2022

Meet Belinda Boney, Festival Coordinator (Murrawarri/Wailwan)

In the role as Festival Coordinator for Baiame's Ngunnhu Festival 2022, Belinda will be collaborating with festival partners and artists in preparations for Family & Culture Day. Bringing together stalls including arts & crafts, food, community organisations & various cultural workshops by practitioners of the area.

Belinda will also be coordinating Ba-wun: Spirit, Identity, Belonging & Becoming, a new community project to be delivered at this year’s festival. Ba-wun is a series of workshops and masterclasses over 8-10 weeks, culminating in a curated visual promenade through design, light and music. This project will be delivered in the LGA to include Lightning Ridge, Goodooga, Weilmoringle and Brewarrina artists.

In 2021, Belinda began this role for Baiame’s Ngunnhu Festival with the guidance of Moogahlin co-founder and Artistic Director, Lily Shearer. and Regional Coordinator, Lacey Boney. Building together from the foundations laid by Lily over the last six years, they created an incredible three day program that gathered people from far and wide back on country to celebrate the record rains that broke five years of severe man-made drought.
