A CELEBRATION OF CONNECTION FOR THE LOCAL TRIBES OF THE NGUNNHU

The 8th Baiame's Ngunnhu Festival returns to the banks of the Ba-wun river, Weir Park, Brewarrina. Celebrating through cultural events, cultural history tours, and arts market Opening Ceremony Corroboree and a Closing Ceremony; live music concert and fish feast. The festival is a social impact project that brings together and celebrates artists, food vendors, and community groups.
5.30pm - 7pm, Weir Park

Join us as the sun sets for the Opening Ceremony Corroboree.
Bringing together cultural dance groups of the Ngunnhu on the Ba-wun River with a stellar lineup Ngemba, Murrawarri, Yuwaalaraay Ngurra Dancers, Ngambaa Dhalaay Milan Dhiiyaan and more.
The Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum will be conducting tours of the Ngunnhu.

Saturday, is a jam packed afternoon of workshops, cultural activities such as Weaving, Wood Carving, Dance & Art. With many Community, artisans and food stalls active throughout the day. With Special guests; Signal Creative hosting a fashion parade featuring local designs and models from Bourke, Walgett and Brewarrina. Supported by Outback Arts. Plus workshops conducted by Dennis Golding, Art Gallery of NSW artist in residence.
The Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum will be conducting tours.

BA-WUN: SPIRIT, IDENTITY, BELONGING, AND BECOMING

Presented in partnership by Moogahlin Performing Arts and Studio Gilay
Ba-wun is animated celebration of works connected to Baiame’s Ngunnhu. Featuring creations by local artists Dianne Kelly, Tom Barker and Tracey Walford. Digitised and Presented by Studio Gilay through projections upon the landscape.

Enjoy the stellar line-up of musical artists lead and curated by Warren Mason with special guest, Lacey Hill from Six Nations of the Grand River, Turtle Island.
Enjoy a feast of fish whilst enjoying world class First People’s Music.
