BAIAME’S NGUNNHU FESTIVAL

A CELEBRATION OF CONNECTION FOR THE LOCAL TRIBES OF THE NGUNNHU

 

FRIDAY 09 April - OPENING CEREMONY

5pm - 7pm, Weir Park

Baiame’s Ngunnhu Festival returns again to the banks of the Barwon River, the lifeblood of the Ngemba, Baranbinja, Morowari, Kula, Laualko, Ualarai, Kamilaroi, Kamu, and Paarkinji communities! Join us as as the sun sets for Opening Ceremony and Corroboree with groups from Brewarrina, Morree, Orange & beyond.

The Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum will be conducting tours at 11am, 1pm & 2.30pm.

SATURDAY 10 APRIL - FAMILY & CULTURE DAY

Weir Park

11am - 3pm, Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum

A day for everyone to get involved! Participate in creative arts workshops, meet local service providers, take a tour of the Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum and Fish Traps, or enter the Fishing Competition and Carp Muster.

Jason Heatherill Jewellery & Toys, Amy Gordon, Essential Oils & Soaps (Homemade) Clem Orcher bringing Football Activities & Prizes, Natalie Boney doing Curries & Damper, Dandaloo Su (Su Lousick) with a little Weaving, Kim Hardy Cricket Club Children's Activities,Wendy Finlayson selling Vintage Clothes, Rory Finlayson with Brumby's Merchandise and Patricia Light doing Plants.



 

SUNDAY 11 APRIL - CLOSING CEREMOny CONCERT & FISH FEAST

11am - 4pm Weir Park

Enjoy the musical stylings of Gii Music, DOBBY, Kelsey Barker, Warren Mason & Tahnee/Jode Arnold plus the awards ceremony for the Fishing Competition & Carp Muster.

Fish Feast for lunch so come on down and get something to eat.
