The Weekend is the story of Lara, a young Sydney mother, working interstate as a dancer when she receives a distress call from her youngest son - their father Simon hasn’t been seen for days and they are running out of food. Worried and angry Lara returns to Sydney with only the weekend to find her him. On her search Lara traverses the world of public housing, drug taking and dealing, and the threat of losing her kids. The Weekend is an emotional ride of laughter and hope, love, loss, and a young family’s search for a new beginning.
